Three Renewable Energy Sources

The acceptance of renewable energy is entering a new age. It's no longer required to spend tens of thousands of dollars to build your own source. The rising cost of non-renewable energy is also ushering in new interest.

Declining prices to build a renewable energy source and growing interest by consumers will help renewable energy find it's way into every home in the near future.

There are three primary renewable energy sources to consider.

Solar Energy

Solar energy is expected to be one of the largest suppliers of energy in the coming years. Solar panels have a low maintence requirment and recent breakthroughs will dramatically lower the cost of purchasing a solar panel unit.

Hydro Energy

There has been a significant committment to hydro energy with China taking the lead with the Three Gorges Dam. When completed it will be the largest in existance. Although hydro energy does produce clean energy it can have an adverse effect on the surrounding ecosystem by disturbing natural habitats.

Wind Energy

For consumers, wind energy may be the most promising solution. Recent advancements have made it possible to create a wind turbine for less than $200. The energy it collects is clean, and doesn't harm the environment. And unlike solar panels, a wind generator will have a greater range of efficiency since it functions well in stormy weather.
